Early Afternoon Update…

Moving right along, because typing is as good a way as any to kill time while waiting for laundry…

• The New York Times holding a debate on anonymous commenting.  I take a special interest since over the weekend I was told to GO GET AIDS. Note:  Don’t make fans of phish angry.
• Also from the Times:  Wal-Mart Bloggers.  I am not making this up.  I’m also happy to see the blue behemoth giving them some version of editorial freedom, which as the article points out, was a bit of a battle.
• The Earth Liberation Front (linking to Wikipedia so I don’t have to link to them…), a band of eco-terrorists, have torched a street of luxury homes in Seattle. I like the environment and all…I would probably bend some rules to protest…but this is beyond the pale.
• Finally, I’ll go ahead and seize on tonight’s essay topic:  liberal arts versus what the WaPo calls “precise skills.”  Brace yourselves.
